University of Ghana and its Consortium Partners Awarded a European Union Grant

UNIVERSITY OF GHANA AND ITS CONSORTIUM PARTNERS AWARDED

A EUROPEAN UNION GRANT

 

The Office of Research, Innovation and Development is pleased to inform the University community that the University of Ghana and its consortium of five African partners have been awarded a 1.3 Million Eurogrant by the European Commission within the framework of the EU-Intra Africa Mobility Programme to implement the project titled “Harmonisation of Entrepreneurship Education for Sustainable Development in Africa (HEED–Africa)” for a period of 5 years.

The beneficiary Universities include Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia) as the consortium lead, University of Ghana, Makerere University (Uganda), Kyambogo University (Uganda), University of Johannesburg (South Africa) as partner institutions and the University of Wolverhampton (UK) as the EU technical partner.

The project seeks to facilitate academic mobility to enhance individual capacities and institutional capabilities in entrepreneurship across thematic disciplines in Africa. The programme will offer scholarships for master’s and PhD students as well as capacity building for academic and administrative staff of the various partner Universities. The programme is also expected to foster further cooperation in areas of research and education among partner universities.
